A SUMMER JUICE, COOLING AND REFRESHING.

As you can see this juice has an orange in it! So what’s unusual about that? Well, I’m not really a fan of oranges and never have been…too messy, too tart, too sweet, too time consuming. They are also classified as being acidic, unlike lemons and grapefruits which neutralise in the body. They are rich in vitamin C but so are green peppers and kiwi fruits which I much prefer.

I am not a fussy eater but for the above reasons I have eschewed the wonderful orange…and then I found a recipe in one of Jason Vale‘s juice books which drew my attention. Naturally I did not have all the necessary ingredients so this evolved into something slightly different.

It was a wonderful warm summer afternoon and this scrumptious juice tasted so refreshing poured over a stack of ice.

ORANGE COOLER
1 orange cut in half (peel removed otherwise a tad too bitter and messes with your juicer)
1/4 pineapple (peel removed, as above)
2 carrots
Large handful fresh mint
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Pop all through the juicer and then squeeze 1/2 lemon in and pour into your glass over lts of ice.
Enjoy this vibrant drink…

Just an extra tip; place the mint leaves in a bundle between the orange halves and that way you will get the most juice out of the leaves.
